Welcome everyone! I am so happy to be teaching at Lehi Elementary School here in Mesa. I was born and raised in Janesville, WI, but I've lived in 6 different states since then. This is my 30th year as a full-time educator. I have taught 2nd grade for 13 years, Kindergarten for 11 years, 5th grade for 2 years, 3rd grade for 2 years, 6th grade for 1 year, and 1st grade for 1 year--but Kindergarten is my favorite!
I began my love of teaching while in high school when I volunteered at a local nursery school. I then went on to major in education at the University of Wisconsin--Rock County Campus, where I earned an Associate of Arts degree, and then at the University of Wisconsin--Whitewater, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a French minor. I taught 1st grade in Shiprock, NM, for one year. Next I attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, where I earned my Master of Education Degree in Curriculum & Supervision under the Educational Leadership Department. After that, I taught Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 5th grade over 6 years in Salt Lake City, UT.
Following SLC, my husband, young son, and I moved to Wyoming where I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. We lived in Star Valley, WY, for 19 years, where we raised our children. While there, I taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 6th grade. Our next spot was Twin Falls, ID, where I taught 5th grade for one year and Kindergarten for 2 years, before moving to Mesa this summer to live closer to my aging parents. I'm excited to be teaching Kindergarten again, and I plan to remain here in Mesa until I finish my educational career. We'll have a great time together at Lehi. Go Lynx!!!
