The Commons

Welcome to The Commons. Our mission is to support the students and faculty of Red Mountain by providing access to materials and information which incite imagination, guide investigations, and generate ideas. We select, acquire, and organize resources to best serve our school community as well as provide the tools to enrich and enhance students' achievement as 21st century citizens.

  1. Food is NOT permitted in The Commons. Drinks are allowed with a lid.
  2. Clothing, behavior and language should be school appropriate at all times.
  3. Signed and dated Passes are required for admittance during class time. Passes are not needed for entry before school, after school, during lunch or for a scheduled event (unless otherwise stated).
  4. IDs must be worn at all times. Students who do not have their ID will be asked to go to the Bookstore to purchase a new one.

Borrowing procedures

A current school ID is required to check out resources. Students can check out up to 3 books at a time. The lending period is 3 weeks for fiction/non-fiction, 2 weeks for eBooks, and reference materials are for same day use only. Materials that are overdue will be marked lost after 14 days and a fine will be assessed for full retail price. Fines will be removed should the item be returned in like condition within 90 days.  Students owing fines for lost/damaged materials will have borrowing privileges suspended until fines are satisfied. For more details, review our Circulation Policy.

We do not charge for regular printing; however, we do ask that you limit printing to 5 pages per article. Color printing is available for $0.50 per page.
