TEXTBOOK MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookstore Managers and General Clerks (7-9 Junior High Schools)

  • are responsible for the inventory, circulation, and transfer of textbooks
  • complete the online request form for additional textbooks
  • assign and manage textbook fines
  • monitor textbook checkouts to ensure transferring students are not assigned more than one copy of a textbook
  • encourage students to bring in textbooks from other sites

Registrars and Elementary Office Specialists

  • monitor textbook accounts of transferring students to notify the guardian and student of textbook fines and/or current checkouts
  • encourage students to bring in textbooks from other sites; accept those textbooks

Elementary and 7-8 Junior High School Resource Center Specialists 

  • support the inventory and circulation of textbooks
  • transfer and receive textbooks
  • assign textbook fines
  • monitor textbook checkouts to ensure transferring students are not assigned more than one copy of a textbook (junior high)
  • encourage students to bring in textbooks from other sites

Department/Grade Level Chairs and Title 1 Specialists

  • assist teachers in managing class sets 
  • contact the bookstore manager to request additional textbooks (high school)
  • contact the Resource Center Specialist to request textbooks (elementary and junior high)

Classroom Teachers

  • scan all textbooks and manuals for check out and check in (elementary)
  • manage the textbooks checked out on your account
  • encourage students to bring in textbooks from other sites; accept those textbooks

Students

  • be responsible for the textbooks checked out
