Here’s what the Kinderfriends are learning!

Reading

*All Upper and Lowercase letters and their sounds

*Breaking one-syllable words into sounds

*Blending sounds together to make words

*Using the cover, title, pictures, and text to make predictions about books

Writing

*All of the Kindergarteners participate in Writer’s Workshop! Here students use journals or small books and create amazing stories. They are guided by mini-lessons given by their teacher at the beginning of each Writer’s Workshop session. This allows student to develop their writing skills at their own pace, and allows the teacher to push each child to the next level individually!  We are all authors!

Math

*Recognizing, reading, and writing the numbers up to 20

*Recognizing, extending, and creating patterns

*Modeling simple addition and subtraction up to 10

*Estimation

*Simple Measurement

All of the Kindergarteners also do Science and Social Studies! Ask your teacher what they have planned!
