I grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, just North of Washington, DC. I moved to Tempe, Arizona in 2000 to attend Arizona State University where I earned a Bachelors degree in Human Communication and a Minor in English Literature.

From 2006 until 2008 I taught PE and computers at St. Peters School in Washington, DC. In 2008 I moved back to Tempe, and started a Masters program in Elementary Education. I student taught in 2009 through the Rodel foundation at Catalina Ventura Elementary where I taught 7th grade math, reading and social studies. During the 2010/2011 school year I taught 7th and 8th grade math at Montebello Elementary. In 2011/2012 I was a 6th grade teacher at Jordan Elementary here in the Mesa School District. Beginning in 2012 I have been teaching 4th, 5th and 6th grade at Longfellow Elementary.

In 2021 I earned a gifted education certificate from Arizona State University, and began teaching gifted and talented education.
