Hello! I am Monica Torres and I am proud to be the Principal at Longfellow Elementary. Although I am new to Longfellow this year, I have had the good fortune of being a Principal in Mesa Public schools since July 2010.
I was born and raised in Silver City, NM. I attended New Mexico State University where I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education in December, 1991. It was then that I moved to the Phoenix area and began my career in Education.
I attended ASU and received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in May 1996 and became an Administrator in June 1998. I have been working in an Administrative capacity for 17 years now and I sincerely enjoy my job. I am able to touch the lives of many more children and for this opportunity I am grateful.
I have been married to Israel Torres for 16 years, and have two awesome children. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and just relaxing.
I am proud to be a member of the Longfellow family where we take the job of educating students very seriously. We are committed to individualizing instruction for every student to ensure success.
Please feel free to drop by the office and introduce yourself or if you have any concerns.
