Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome your family to the Fifth grade at Lowell Elementary School.  I am excited to work with you and your child in the up-coming school year. Let me start by introducing myself.  This is my 22nd year of teaching in Mesa.  I taught one year at Lowell Elementary, thirteen years at Alma Elementary, four years at Sirrine, three years at Whittier, and know I am happy to be back at Lowell.  I received my degree from the University of Northern Iowa and have received a Masters Degree in Elementary Education through NAU.  I also have a degree in criminology. I reside in Mesa with my wife Karen and my dogs Bianca, Katie, and Koda.  I love doing many outdoor activities.  My favorite hobbies are golfing, reading, camping, spending time with my family, and cheering on the Diamondbacks.

Optional supply list

These are some items that would be very helpful to begin the school year.  These items are optional and will be supplied if you do not purchase them.  Set of white board markers, pencils, 5 spirals, box of Kleenex, roll of paper towels, bottle of hand sanitizer, colored pencils, box of markers, and crayons.

I am always available for questions or concerns and I encourage you to call if you are unsure of something.  My email is available to you through the school website.  (tjhuch@mpsaz.org)  My school hours are approximately 7:00-4:00.  My classroom phone number is 472-4936.  Please leave a message if you do not reach me and I will return your call ASAP.
