October 2007 To earn a high school diploma, students are required to pass Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) test. A high school student who “meets” or “exceeds” the standard in all three subject areas has passed the AIMS test and will not need to retake the test. High school students who score in the “approaches” or “falls far below” the standard categories in one or more subject areas must retake the tests. Dates for fall testing will be October 30 for writing; October 31 for reading; and November 1 for math.
