Apply for World Studies Academy Grades 7-9
Rhodes Junior High School will launch a ground-breaking academic model that offers students an education for tomorrow’s world.

The World Studies Academy will bring to life the Arizona state curriculum with a themed approach centered on the United States in the global community. Students will study global issues, world cultures and languages, geography and economics to bring the far reaches of the world market closer.

Language – Spanish, Mandarin Chinese or French – will be a requirement for eighth- and ninth- graders, giving students an additional high school credit upon completion of ninth-grade. This innovative cur-riculum will involve a seven-period day to give students time for core course work, language and electives. Students will focus on the development of leadership skills, critical thinking, problem analysis and applied knowledge.

Rhodes Junior High, at 1860 S. Longmore St., Mesa , has a long tradition of academic excellence and an award-winning performing arts program. World Studies Academy students have multiple opportunities to participate in extracurricular clubs, academic teams and sports.

The program is open to all current students, and Rhodes Junior High will accept open enrollment applications from those who now attend other schools.
