On January 29th, 2009 forty volunteers came to Mendoza to spend the day beautifying our campus. They spent the day building five benches with planters on each side, cutting and laying pavers to build a patio in back of the office, repainting our U.S. map, painting a sundial in our courtyard, building a number of raised gardens, planting three trees, removing unwanted plants, and rebuilding a drip system in our butterfly garden. All the materials and the worker's time was donated. All of us at Mendoza would like to say THANK YOU to the HOME DEPOT and all who helped out with these projects including Mr. Ianni and Ms. Kittelson. Some of the vendors who provided free materials wereColor Spot, Pavestone, and Behr Paints...THANK YOU.
