The atmosphere in Room 20 centers around positive behavior supports and individual interventions. We believe that, given positive reinforcement and the tools they need to succeed, most students will be successful.

We use Class Dojo, a web-based behavior monitoring program. Students earn points for positive actions. If a student is misbehaving, they receive a warning, then lose a point.

Positive Dojo Points:

"Needs Work" Dojo Points:

Consequence Conferencing:

Sometimes making questionable behavior choices is part of a student’s learning process. In room 20, we look at behavioral issues as a chance to learn. Students will receive a warning, then a Dojo point will be deducted. Occasional deductions are lessons being learned, not a cause for concern.
If points are being deducted frequently (more than one for 3 days in a row), consequences will be discussed with parent(s) and the student.
