STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It is a way to encourage students to use the Engineering Design Process. Through this process, students learn to question, investigate, and create.

2nd Grade

In our classroom, you will see the students stretching their thinking, discussing with others, and creating something new. It may be the tallest building using only index cards to a device that will trap a leprechaun! We will be exploring through STEM all year long. We will also be teaming up with a 5th grade classroom as a buddy system!

What can you do?

It is always good to encourage students to think out their ideas. Brainstorm and generate ways to solve a problem by asking questions and creating a plan. Your child will be learning different strategies throughout the year and I will encourage them to use these strategies anywhere, not just school.

It also takes a lot of materials to be able to do these fun, educational projects. Most of them are found right in your house! Below is a list of items that I would love to be donated anytime throughout the year!
