Education and Career Action Plans

Mesa Public Schools students develop Education and Career Action Plans (ECAPS) prior to graduation. The initial plan is developed in junior high and it is updated throughout high school. An ECAP reflects students' current plan of coursework, career aspirations, and extended learning opportunities. The ECAP helps students personalize their education and enables them to maximize the opportunities available upon high school graduation.

The primary  means by which our students develop an ECAP is through our Career Planning System (powered by AZCIS).

What do you want to be when you grow up?

With AZCIS, you can find the answer, make a plan, and achieve your goals!

While the big picture can sometimes seem overwhelming when it comes to the future, AZCIS will get you started and walk you through the planning process step by step. With a reliable, user–friendly, and self-guided approach – you can be confident that you are on track.

Guided by a Career Planning Timeline, AZCIS helps students learn about themselves with research-based assessments, build an education plan, and prepare for various options after high school. Students also access tools that prepare them for a world beyond school walls. All data that is saved or created is populated into an electronic portfolio, which students can access throughout their lifetime and share online.
