I am now entering my fourth year of teaching from my industry field of athletic training. I have been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 8 years and have done most of my work in the collegiate setting. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training at Roanoke College in Salem, VA and went on to complete my Master's of Science in Human Development and Leadership at Murray State University in Murray, KY. While at Murray State University I had the opportunity to work with many of the athletic programs, but my primary focus was women's soccer. Upon leaving Murray State University, I moved to Gilbert, AZ with my husband Daniel. This prompted me to begin my job search where I found my place here at Mesa High School home of the Jackrabbits!

Here at Mesa I am the sports medicine teacher as well as the assistant athletic trainer in the afternoons. I teach a full course load within the CTE department where students have the opportunity to complete a three course program. Students learn about the broad field of sports medicine as well anatomy, rehab, modalities, injury evaluation, and practical skills such as taping/bracing. Any students interested in pursuing a career in the medical field would be greatly benefited by completing this program.

I also sponsor the sports medicine club here at Mesa High School. Students are not required to take the classes to be a part of the club. Students learn hands on skills and also have the opportunity to participate in state and national competitions.
