Biography
Mrs. Lilia Gómez-Napier was born in Glendale, California. Her parents came to the United States from México in 1960. Her family moved to Arizona in 1969.
She attended Nathan Hale Elementary, Poston Junior High, and graduated from Mountain View High School. She attended Arizona State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with an emphasis in Latin American Studies and a minor in French. A few years later she returned to ASU and received a Master’s degree in Secondary Education. She attended Northern Arizona University and received her Principal’s Certificate in 2006.
Ms. Gomez-Napier started her career with Mesa Public Schools as an ESL/Migrant Resource Specialist. She taught Spanish and French at Red Mountain High School and was the World Language Department Chair for ten years. Prior to coming to Mesa High, she was the Assistant Principal for Activities at Westwood and she spent one year as a Team Leader at Red Mountain High School.
