I graduated Cibola High School in Yuma, AZ in 1995 and then went to Northern Arizona University. I graduated NAU in 1999 with a dual Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education K-8 and Special Education K-12. I also received my Master's degree in 2006 from NAU in Multicultural/ Bilingual Education with an emphasis in English as a Second Language.
The 2018-2019 school year will be my 20th year teaching Special Education.
I have taught special education at Broadmor Elementary School, in Tempe, kindergarten through 5th grade for 6 1/2 years. I then, taught special education at Gililland Middle School, in Tempe, 6th through 8th grades for the last 9 1/2 years, before moving to Mesa Public Schools.
On a personal note, I have been happily married to my wonderful husband, for 9 years. I have three step-children, two of which, graduated from Mesa High. I have a son and daughter as well, who are elementary school age. I like to craft, take photography, cook, and bake. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. This year I'm the den mother for my son's Cub Scout Den and one of the leaders for my daughter's Girl Scout Troop.
I look forward to having a wonderful school year!
