Biography

I am a home grown teacher. I went to Keller Elementary, Taylor Jr. High, and of course Mesa High. While here as a student I played Volleyball and Basketball. Little did I know then, that I would come back to teach math. I graduated from Mesa High with honors and attended Arizona State University where I graduated magna cum laude in Mathematics Education with a minor in German.  I did my student teaching here as well. I was hired in 2004 and taught for 5 straight years. In that time I also coached several teams, started the Denominators (a math club), and taught the AVID elective courses. In 2007 I graduated from Arizona State University with a Master of Natural Science in Mathematics. Because of my work done in my Master's program, I was eager to start a Ph.D. program. In 2009, I enrolled full-time for a four-year program at Arizona State University and was working as a research assistant. However, I became homesick. I missed teaching. I missed the energy from our youth and I finally realized that I was born to teach. Currently, I am still working on this degree, but at a slower pace. My road back to Mesa High included a semester at Kino Jr. High. I'm back now and everyday has been exciting. I really just love learning and incorporating it in my teaching.  I love teaching our students. I love Mesa High!
