MPS Parent Presentation: Parent Involvement Equals Student Success

Jan Umhay of Parent University will give the presentation at Tuesday's (Oct. 20) meeting of the Mesa Parent Advocates for Quality Schools.

Parent Leaders:

I hope that your family is enjoying a well-deserved fall break!

This is a reminder that the Mesa Parent Advocates for Quality Schools will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 20) in the Governing Board Room, 549 N. Stapley Drive, Mesa.

Our agenda will feature Jan Umhay, Parent University specialist, on the topic, Parent Involvement Equals Student Success. Here is a sneak preview of Jan’s presentation:

  • Find out the importance of being involved in your child's life and at your child's school.
  • Become more familiar with the district’s Parent University.
  • Learn about your parenting style. Are you passive, aggressive or assertive?
  • Hear about how to turn the five barrier behaviors into builder behaviors.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about how you can strengthen your child’s academic success. Jan will also share information about the wonderful classes available through the district’s Parent University.
