Service Learning

There are two ways to volunteer.  Option A is when a teacher uses service learning as an instructional strategy in a particular class.  Option B is when students are involved in service activities that are not part of an academic class; they are extracurricular.

The Process

Step 1:  Students complete an application.  They may be found in Room 724, on the wall outside the counseling office, you may download them off the Mesa Service Learning website.  Submit the application to Mrs. Thorp in Rm. 724, and receive a timecard. 

Step 2:  Students complete their volunteer activity and fill out the timecard and submit it to Mrs. Thorp when it's finished. 

Step 3:  Students participate in the Service Learning Reflection either in September or April.  The fall reflection will be held on Wed. September 9 in the Media Center from 3:15-5:00.
