Matt Foreman is the founder, president, and coach of the Toro Throwers Club. He is the throws coach at Mountain View High School, and has been coaching high school throwing for twelve years. During his coaching career, Coach Foreman has been fortunate to work with several outstanding athletes in a variety of sports. In track and field, he has coached throwers who have won multiple region and state championships in Washington and Arizona. In other sports such as football and weightlifting, he has coached several winning teams, state, and national champions.

Coach Foreman is also a full-time English teacher and assistant football coach at Mountain View High School, his home since 2006. Prior to arriving at Mountain View, he coached for seven years at Life Christian Academy in Tacoma, Washington and two years at Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona. Coach Foreman is also a certified USA Weightlifting coach, and has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for eleven years at both the high school and collegiate level.

As an athlete, Coach Foreman’s career covers a wide range of experiences. Starting out as an All-Region football player at Page High School, he began competing in Olympic Weightlifting after graduating in 1990. As a weightlifter, he was a two-time National Collegiate Champion, World University Championship team member, Olympic Trials competitor, Washington State record-holder, and five-time medallist at the American Open. Still competing today, he is in his 20th year as an athlete. He is also a Scottish Highland Games athlete and masters track and field competitor.
