Toros Win Page Sand Devil Classic Championship for 3rd Tournament Title this year.
The Mountain View Wrestling Team won the Page Sand Devil Wrestling Classic in dramatic fashion again by winning the tournament by .5 of a point as they did in Las Vegas earlier in the season. The Toros placed 11 out of 14 of their wrestlers in the top 6. They were led by Champions Octavio Penunuri (Sr 126 lbs) and Seth Monty (Jr 145 lbs), Placing second were Grant Huber (Jr 160lbs) and Oscar Overly (Sr 220lbs). Placing third were Cayman Nielson (Soph 132lbs), Blake Monty (Frosh 138lbs) and Masi Uasike (Jr Heavyweight). Placing 5th were Steven Mason (Jr 152lbs), Kaz Segal (Jr 170 lbs) and McKay Huber (Soph 195 lbs). Placing 6th was Konner Stevens (Frosh 106lbs).

Earlier in the the week the Toros had dropped two hard fought battles with Ironwood Ridge 22-46, and Corona Del Sol 30-36. The Toros Varsity record now stands at 20-3.
The Junior Varsity went to Ironwood Ridge JV Tournament on Sat and won 38 out of 39 matches, and The Frosh Went to Greenway Frosh Invitational and went 35 -28 in matches.
This coming week the Toros will take on # 2 ranked Desert Vista at Home. This is our Seniors last night competing in our gym, and they will recognized with their parents before the varsity match. The JV/Frosh will start at 5:00pm and Varsity at 6:30pm. Next Saturday the Toros JV will travel to Prescott Valley Bradshaw Mountain High School to compete in the ALL Arizona JV Tournament, and the Frosh will compete in the Mesa City Frosh Tournament. Times will be posted later in the week.

Wednesday: gym set up 3:15pm, weigh in at 4:00pm, JV/Frosh 5:00pm vs Desert Vista, Sr parents meet in Northwest corner of Gym by Lockerroon at 6:15 to walkout with your son. 6:30 varsity vs Desert Vista.
Thursday: Practice 2;15-4:30pm
Friday: Pictures to be taken 2:15 -2:45, practice - 4:30pm
Saturday: Varsity practice to be announced. JV Bus Leaves at 5:30 for Prescott Valley, Wrestling time to be announced later. Frosh Bus and wrestling times to be announce later.
