ASU Science and Engineering Experience - SCENE

SCENE provides 10th-12th grade students the opportunity to be a professional scientist by designing and conducting an original research project. Students who are seriously considering a career in science or engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.

SCENE is a continuation of a program created by the Southwest Center for Education and the Natural Environment. Since 1998, more than 200 students from Valley high schools have participated in SCENE.

The application deadline is July 31st each year. Late submissions will not be accepted!

ASU Spanish Family Orientation

As a future Sun Devil Family member, you have the opportunity to attend your student’s New Student Orientation program and a Family Orientation program. ASU suggests attending New Student Orientation first.

In collaboration with New Student Orientation and Family Programs, ASU will be hosting two Spanish Family Orientation sessions. Families can visit  to learn more, prepare, and register for these sessions.  The panel will consist of key units such as housing, safety, student life and a current ASU student.

Update on Ordering Final Transcripts

Seniors - Update on Ordering Final Transcripts 

Seniors - when you have made your final college choice, log in to your Parchment account: Go to Mt. View’s web site ( and click on the red line that says “order transcripts”.

Remember to click on “HOLD FOR GRADES” so they will not go until final grades and ranking is done at the end of the year. This way, you have it done and ordered for when they are ready.

Also in your Parchment Profile-be sure to add a NON-school email so that you can still log-in after you graduate as your school email will not work after you have graduated. 

Please read the flyer below for important announcements from the registrar regarding ordering your final transcripts and also information regarding power of attorney, so that your parents may request information after you turn 18.

Mesa Community College Early College Academy - Virtual Information Sessions

MCC Early College Academy

MPS has partnered with Mesa Community College (MCC) to offer a signature concurrent enrollment program at the MCC Red Mountain campus. The Early College Academy (ECA) offers the opportunity for students earning a 2.0 GPA or higher to take classes on the college campus during periods 1 and 2 of their high school day to fulfill high school graduation and college degree requirements.  Please see the details below.

  • ECA students are bused from the high school to the MCC Red Mountain campus each day.
  • Sophomores earn college credit that is applied to practical art, PE, and elective high school requirements.
  • Juniors earn college credit that is applied to English, PE, and elective high school credit.
  • College tuition is reduced 41% at $35 per credit. Qualifying students may also apply for the Maricopa Grant.

Mayor's Youth Committee 
Sophomores and Juniors

Are you interested in local government? Want to get to know the Mayor and your City Council members? Would you like to meet teens from other Mesa schools? Then the Mayor’s Youth Committee is the program for you! The Mayor’s Youth Committee is an elect group of juniors and seniors from across Mesa who meet 1-2 times a month to learn the ins and outs of city government and do service. In addition to the great new friends and knowledge, if you successfully complete the program, the Mayor will write you a letter of recommendation to bolster your college or scholarship applications.  Please complete the application listed below and email it to Mrs. Simmonds at by Tuesday, May 12.  Mountain View will select up to 4 students to participate on the committee. The school administrator signature and counselor signature on the application will be provided to the Mayor's Youth Committee when we submit the selected students.  Students may submit the application without those signatures.

Virtual College Fair for High School Juniors

ASU, along with many other institutions across the country, will be participating in Strive Scan’s Virtual College Exploration Week, from April 20 through 23. Students can register in advance here.

  • Four full days of virtual presentations for juniors to explore college opportunities 
  • Experienced college admission officers will share tips on what you need to know
  • Choose from 96 different presentations on a variety of important topics 
  • Hundreds of colleges from 40+ states and 10 countries will be participating
