Personal Background

In 1981 my parents, two sisters, and I moved here from the Chicago area. My middle sister is a nurse and has two children.  They have lived in several places throughout the U.S. due to my brother-in-law's Air Force career.  He recently retired after 30 years in service.  My youngest sister is a physical therapist and lives on the East Coast, visiting here as often as possible. We lost our mom in 2003, but Dad is enjoying his retirement.

In 1993, I graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Arts--major in English.  After having my two sons (both products of Poston Junior High and of Mt.View), I completed the Post-Bacc course work through ASU's College of Education in December of 1999.  In January of 2000, I was hired for my first teaching position at Poston Junior High.  During my 13 years there, I taught ninth and seventh grade English classes.  In December of 2012, I graduated with distinction from NAU with a Masters in Educational Leadership. Since 2013 I have been here at Mt. View teaching sophomores and seniors.  My husband works at a nearby retirement community, and our two sons are both in automotive at local shops. When I am not doing things for school, I like to read, paint, go up north to walk trails and visit various sites, and I like to travel to new places whenever possible.
