Biography

I am a local Arizonan--I was born on the west side of town, but grew up in Tempe where I attended McClintock High School--Once a Charger, always a Charger! After graduating, I decided to head north and get my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education in English from Northern Arizona University. I enjoyed getting to call Flagstaff home for three years, but chose to head home and finish my degree in the valley where I student taught at Skyline High School here in Mesa. I spent a couple of months there before being hired on at Mountain View in the fall of 2018. I recently completed a Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University and cannot wait to see how I can incorporate my new knowledge and understanding of teaching into my own personal pedagogy.

Along with teaching Freshman English, I am the Link Crew Coordinator at MVT. I love having the opportunity to work closely with our exemplary juniors and seniors to lead them in guiding the freshmen through their first year of high school. Link Crew runs Freshmen Orientation as well as provides team building and thought provoking lessons for the students throughout the school year. Our mission is to be sure that every student on campus is seen and feels welcome, especially during the first weeks of school.

I seem to find myself at school more often than not, but I enjoy spending my limited amount of free time hiking, traveling, and spending time with my family.

If you need to contact me, please feel free to call; however, I am able to respond to e-mail in a more timely manner throughout the day.

I'm looking forward to an amazing year with the Freshman Class of 2025 on the Campus of Champions - Go Toro's!
