Welcome to Title I and School Improvement. Title I is a section of Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) that established these programs. It is formula funded based on poverty levels, but the services provided are for students at-risk of meeting Arizona Common Core standards in reading and math, so that they can improve their skills, succeed in the regular classroom, and reach grade-level proficiency.

Mesa's Title I Programs serve students from pre-school through junior high. Parental involvement is critical for students success. Each site develops a School Continuous Improvement Plan which includes goals based upon multiple sources of data and research-based programs and strategies. It is our goal to bring the resources of the home and school together to help our students achieve. The pages on this website are one tool in achieving that goal and include suggestions for parental involvement, answers to frequently asked questions, and contact information for the various school sites. The Arizona Department of Education also serves as a resource. Search our Title I Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
