Schools benefit from Westcor grant

Westcor and Fiesta Mall donated $3,100 to MPS through the School Rewards Program.

During March, Westcor and Fiesta Mall offered shoppers the opportunity to donate receipts to schools near Fiesta Mall. Those receipts have now turned into $3,100 in gift cards that the school can use at the mall.

Washington Elementary earned $1,000 for collecting the most receipts. Second place went to Roosevelt Elementary, which received $750. Third-place winner Guerrero Elementary received $500. Fourth-place winner Crismon Elementary earned $250.

Six more schools received a $100 prize: Alma Elementary, Redbird and Adams elementaries, Sunridge Learning Center, Rhodes Junior High and Dobson High.

Westcor, which manages Superstition Springs Center and Fiesta Mall, is a longtime partner with Mesa Public Schools. A recent project included a shopping trip for a Westwood teen and a Skyline teen to outfit the girls for their senior prom.
