Factors considered
The board members considered many factors before reaching a decision, including student achievement, state requirements, holidays, testing and weather. They expressed appreciation to the more than 4,000 parents, students, staff and community members who provided feedback through the online form.
Best model
The board felt the current calendar model best met the diverse needs of the parents, staff and district. It provides a balanced schedule of breaks, maximizes instructional time prior to state testing and is cost effective.
