MPS school board hires new principals
Students, staff and parents at nine campuses will welcome new principals from near and far.
Entz Elementary: Greg Reid, former Sirrine Elementary principal, earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Arizona, his master's in elementary education from Northern Arizona University and his doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Arizona State University.
Jefferson Elementary: Genessee Montes, a Rodel Aspiring Principal award winner, earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from New Mexico State University. Her master's in administration is from Northern Arizona University.
Las Sendas Elementary: Aaron Kaczmarek is the former principal of Stevenson Elementary. He earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Arizona State University and his master's in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.
O’Connor Elementary: A Rodel Aspiring Principal award winner, Scott Eshman is the former team leader at Shepherd Junior High. Eshman earned his bachelor's degree in secondary education from Arizona State University. He received his master's in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Porter Elementary: Paula Warren is a former Teacher of the Year in Texas and a Title I school improvement specialist at Brimhall Junior High. She earned her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. Warren's master's degrees in secondary education and educational leadership were awarded by Northern Arizona University.
School Home Adjustment Reinforcement Program: Leilani Scott earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. The new SHARP principal has a master's in severe needs/vision, an endorsement in orientation and mobility and a certified administrator endorsement from the University of Northern Colorado.
Sirrine Elementary: Renée Parker was previously the Title 1 school improvement specialist and interim principal at Hawthorne Elementary. Parker has master's degrees in bilingual/multicultural education from Northern Arizona University, and educational leadership and supervision from Arizona State University.
Stevenson Elementary: Kathy Ray is the former Title I school improvement specialist at Taft Elementary. She also served as president of the Mesa Education Association. Her bachelor’s degree is from the University of Arizona. Her master's degree in bilingual and multicultural education is from Northern Arizona University. Ray also has a master's in educational leadership and supervision from Arizona State University.
Westwood High: Tim Richard earned his bachelor's degree in secondary education from Arizona State University. He received his master's and doctorate in educational leadership from Jones International University. Richard is a U.S. Air Force veteran and a former principal of Globe High School.
