Children raise money to build school in Kenya

Frost Elementary youngsters are taking on an ambitious project, Brick by Brick, with a goal of raising $8,500.

Frost studentFirst-grader Jason Jackson told his teacher that he can't wait for his tooth to fall out. He's eager to give the money he receives from the tooth fairy to Free the Children.



Frost Elementary is a candidate school preparing to be authorized as an International Baccalaureate School. One of the principle goals of the IB program is to move students to action, helping them to appreciate what they have and developing a desire within them to help those less fortunate.

The school’s latest effort to impact the world is the Brick by Brick program, sponsored by Free the Children. Jim Desmarchais, principal, said the program fits perfectly within the framework of moving students to action.
