Charter-school students, home-school students and open-enrollment applicants from other districts are invited to experience this personalized transition to a comprehensive high school.
Information: Dobson registration department, (480) 472-3052
Location: 1501 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa
Dobson High's Ninth-Grade Bridge opened in August 2009. Unique in Mesa, the Ninth-Grade Bridge is an option to complete all four years of high school on the Dobson campus. Bridge students have access to all the benefits of a comprehensive high school, including:
- a college preparatory curriculum
- weighted, honors and Advanced Placement classes
- performing arts
- visual arts
- career and technical education
- extracurricular clubs and activities
Although Ninth-Grade Bridge students are an integral part of the Dobson student body, they make their transition to high school in a personalized environment. Class sizes are small. Students have a designated counselor and administrator. They take freshmen-only classes in the core subjects of English, world history and biology. In their elective classes, students have the opportunity to learn and interact with many other Dobson students.
"We are eager to meet you," said Matt Gehrman, principal. "At Dobson, we do great things with our students in three years. Imagine what we can do in four!"
