Tribute to Jan Stamey

For more than five years, Jan has been a devoted and reliable volunteer. Her commitment shows through her actions.

As a retired teacher and reading specialist, Jan is highly knowledgable with high expectations for her learners. She arrives at school an hour early to prepare lessons for struggling readers. She targets skills that need refinement and plans meaningful one-on-one interventions.

Along with preparing homework assignments, Jan writes letters and makes phone calls to help parents better support their children at home. She coordinates tutoring and makes beautiful bulletin boards displaying student work. Jan goes to great lengths to encourage students and ensure they succeed.

Jan is passionate and caring, with a loving and selfless heart. She is an invaluable asset for both students and staff.

Jan, thank you for your dedication to Red Mountain Ranch Elementary School. We are pleased to honor you as a Mesa Public Schools Volunteer of the Month.
