O'Connor Elementary School serves approximately 600 students in grades PreK-6.  The staff members at O'Connor value the importance of learning in a disciplined and safe environment. We address and emphasize the mastery of skills in reading, math, and written language as well as encouraging our intermediate students to extend their learning in the arts through band or orchestra.

Whether you are a returning family or you are new to us, you will find that O'Connor Elementary is a special place. The staff, children, and families of O'Connor build a community that values and depends upon each other to create the best educational experience for your child. Our school motto, Good, Better, Best. Never Rest 'til Good be Better and Better be Best, along with our mission statement is the foundation for our educational environment. As a result, we are a Highly Performing School with consistently high ratings (95-98%) from parents and student quality service surveys.

Our classroom teachers and support staff are highly qualified and many teachers hold a full ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement. Besides general education programs, we have specialized programs that serve the needs of specific populations. Additonally, we acquired Title I status in 2008, which provides funds to support additional instruction in the areas of Reading and Math. Instructional assistants are hired from these funds to augment the instruction of classroom teachers. These individuals assist teachers in ensuring students acquire the necessary skills to be fluent and proficient readers, writers, and mathematicians.

O'Connor parents are involved in school activities and are a valued support system for the school. In addition to numerous volunteer opportunities, parents serve on our OCELOT site council which meets five times a year. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) encourages parent involvement in school activities, supports our educational programs, and offers many community events throughout the year. It is this combination of committed dedicated staff, involved supportive parents, and motivated engaged students that leads to many experiences and relationships that spark intellectual development, community, and lifelong learning. Together, we make an incredible difference in the lives of our children.
