The Mesa Public Schools K-8 Guidance Counselors are an integral part of the schools' total educational program. Each K-8 counselor implements a Comprehensive Competency Based Guidance (CCBG) program. The program includes active involvement and support of students, parents, teachers and administrators. The Competency Based Guidance program promotes knowledge, attitudes, and skills in problem solving, goal setting, self-esteem, and educational/occupational decision-making.
Elementary Counselors are an integral part of a school's mission and the overall district goal to help all children succeed in school and life.
