Dwight W. Patterson Elementary
Home of the Coyotes!
Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year Patterson families,
It is an honor and privilege to continue working with the Patterson Elementary community. This will be a very exciting year, one filled with wonderment, joy, learning and growth. I am excited to work alongside the amazing Patterson staff, as well as the supportive parents and community members.
I am a proud graduate of Mesa Public Schools, having attended Irving and Highland Elementaries, Poston Junior High and Mountain View High School. I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to serve the school district where I attended and received an outstanding education.
I have been an educator for 18 years and 16 of those years have been spent with Mesa Public Schools. I started as a classroom teacher at Porter Elementary where I taught grades Kindergarten-4th grade, including English Language Development and combination classes. After leaving the classroom, I spent two years as a K-12 ELD Content Specialist for the district where I supported, coached and worked with various elementary, junior and high school students, teachers and families. Then, I recently spent the last two years at Longfellow Elementary as a Title I School Improvement Specialist where I was an integral part of the leadership team, working with students, families, teachers and the community.
I am deeply committed to ensuring that each student at Patterson feels important and valued and I am very passionate about continuing the Patterson tradition of excellence, where we pledge to provide each student with a “Quality Education for Individual Excellence”. Setting high expectations and providing the necessary support to help all students succeed is at the forefront of everything I do. As a staff, you can expect us to partner with you to make decisions that will allow your child to be successful. We are deeply committed to ensuring that each student at Patterson feels important and valued.
We appreciate and support parent involvement in your child’s education as well as our school community. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Site Improvement Advisory Council (SIAC) meet on a regular basis to discuss projects and issues related to improving our school. Whether you can attend our meetings, head up a committee, or would like to volunteer for a special project, we welcome your involvement.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns. Thank you for yoursupport!
