About the Teacher

  This is my eighteenth year to teach, all in the upper grades.  I honestly 
prefer the 6th grade curriculum.  I've got some very "special" projects and activities 
for social studies, writing, and math that I'm anxious to teach this year.    
  I've held several jobs: secretary to hospital executives, commercial 
realtor (I didn't like that at all!), paraprofessional for 1st and 2nd 
graders, school secretary, and silk flower entrepreneur.  The year my third 
child graduated from high school, I graduated from ASU with a teaching 
degree and have been teaching ever since.  My sons were happy that I finally 
decided what I wanted to be when I grew up.
   I am truly blessed to have the same wonderful husband for 43 years, three 
grown sons who are all very successful in their careers, and seven beautiful 
grandchildren.  My daughters'-in-law are very close to me, too.  I enjoy 
home decorating, polymer clay jewelry making, gardening, and antiquing.
   To have the opportunity and privilege to assist in your child's academic 
and emotional growth is another blessing I have.  My students are an 
extension of my family and ALL are very special to me.
