Welcome to the Pomeroy Montessori Program, Room 7. This is my 20th year with the Mesa Public Schools Montessori Programs. Here is a little about my teaching background.

Through the years I have acquired the following:

  • Montessori 3-6  and 6-9 AMS credentials
  • A Masters degree in Educational Media and Computers
  • State of Arizona K-8 Teaching Certificate
  • Endorsements in Early Childhood Educations, English as a Second Language, Reading , and Gifted Education (Provisional)
  • Elementary Montessori Teacher Trainer for South Mountain Community College

Our classroom has both a lead teacher, Mrs. Roth, and a Classroom Assistant, Mrs. Gin.  Mrs. Gin graduated from ASU with a degree in business. Mrs. Gin is currently taking AMS Montessori teacher training. We are excited for her and our classroom as she begins her internship year in our class. She will also continue to work for the seventh year as our classroom assistant. Mrs. Gin is married and has three boys.

We both work to give each student guidance, to assist them in learning. Students are given lessons, as they are ready. After a new presentation, students practice the material until they have mastered the educational principle. Daily "assignment sheets" help students to plan their daily practice. Also, additional assignments are given and expected to be completed in a timely manner.

This classroom is a Montessori 1st-3rd grade classroom within the Mesa Public Schools. Generally, a student enters as a first grade student and stays until he/she has completed the third grade year. This conforms to the Montessori philosophy of "the three year cycle". We become a community of learners and families.

Again, we welcome you.
