Biography

Hello! My name is Yanel Zazueta and I am very excited to be a 4th grade teacher here at Pomeroy. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in Spring of 2019 with a BA in Elementary Education. During my educational career at NAU, I gained a vast amount of knowledge throughout my courses and my practicums. In this time, I learned various strategies on creating effective lesson plans and different teaching strategies that fit all types of learners. I firmly believe in endless learning; therefore, I will continue to broaden my knowledge.

This will be my first-year teaching and I am beyond thrilled. I am really looking forward to this new adventure. I am a very kind, patient, loving, understanding, responsible, and hardworking individual. My teaching philosophy is that all students are unique in their own way, and it is my duty to teach students various skills they can use to help them succeed in my classroom and life itself. In my classroom, we will learn and grow together. I always have my students’ best interest at heart. I will continue to strive to be a positive and effective role model using various strategies and teaching techniques.

I am originally from Yuma, AZ but, I have lived in the Phoenix area for two years. My husband, Emanuel and I are expecting our first child in February of 2020. We have one pet; our baby boy Luke is a friendly Belgian Milanois. I enjoy spending time with my family and going on road trips and various adventurous together.

Parents, we are all in this together. Just like you I am advocating for your child’s education. Communication is key especially in education. Parents feel free to call me at 480-472-3726 or email me at yzazueta@mpsaz.org. I will contact you back as soon as I am able to.
