According to Nagy and Herman (1987), a student who reads 20 minutes a day will be in the 90th percentile of his/her class. A student who reads 5 minutes a day will be in the 50th percentile. A student who reads 1 minute a day will be in the 10th percentile. Go to Internet for Classrooms  or Starfall  to access stories to read. Please have your child read 20 minutes a day!
