I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a degree in Special Education. I started working with Mesa Public school in 1993, teaching Pre-K. While I raised my family, I was a substitute teacher at Mesa Public School for 15 years. As a substitute teacher, I taught students at all age levels and ability levels. I have been working in the SLLD program at Porter since 2011.
Since working at Porter I have become an AVID and PBIS trained teacher. I have also been trained to administer the LAC-3, DIBLS, and WJ-4 assessments. I have additional training in LiPS, Seeing Stars, Visualizing and Verbalizing, Orton Gillingham, Read Naturally, and SRA Decoding.

I was born in Nevada but I have also lived in Utah, Nebraska and Denmark. I love to learn about other places and people. We are a multilingual family, I speak Danish and German, one daughter speaks Spanish, another daughter speaks Bulgarian, and our son speaks French.
When Robert and I married in 1988, we moved to Mesa. I love living in Mesa. All of our five children have attended Mesa Public Schools. Our oldest daughter Jessica, graduate from ASU , is working as a nurse and expecting her first baby. Carson is attending Benedictine University and plays on their Soccer team. Kira also graduated from ASU in Meteorology / Climatology and is now living in Idaho with her husband. Ryan recently graduated from Red Mountain High School and will be attending NAU in the fall, and Sara our youngest will we a sophomore at Red Mountain and enjoys playing soccer for MSC.
As a family, when we are not busy with school and work, we love to explore Arizona by camping, boating, and quading. I love to read, research the internet, and do "needle work" .
