All cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and placed in the student's backpack or purse while in a classroom. Administrators and teachers are authorized to confiscate electronic devices that are used in a classroom or used in any other manner that violates district or school policy. The parent or guardian of a student whose electronic device has been confiscated may recover the item from a school administrator.
If I lose something....Check the bookstore, and then the office. All found items are taken to the bookstore. Report all stolen items to the office. If necessary, the police will be notified, and will help us locate your possessions.
If I am interested in sports.... Get a parent permission slip signed, a signed physical form from your doctor, and sign up for the sport when the season begins. In early April, eighth grade students who are interested in ninth grade sports as part of the upcoming freshman year and their parents have the opportunity to attend an athletic information night. During the meeting, a packet will be distributed, which covers much information vital to successful participation in freshman sports. Students will meet the Poston coaching staff, have a chance to ask questions, receive forms and information on sports physicals, and watch the required "Informed Consent " video. Seventh and eighth grade students may participate in intramural track, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, softball and flag football. If you have additional questions, please contact a coach, or call the athletic director at 472-2170.
