I received my Bachelors in English from Ottawa University in 2000, obtained my Masters in Educational Leadership in 2012, from Northern Arizona University as well as completed my Principal Certificate in 2013. Since 2000 I have been teaching here at Poston Junior High. Currently I teach two 8th grade English classes and one ELP/AVID English class. I presently serve as co-chair for Poston's English department as well as mentor on campus for educational technology.
Again this year I will be co-sponsoring the Close-Up trip to Washington, D.C. with Mr. Martin. I am looking forward to this adventure and hope to share in a very exciting opportunity with our eighth grade students.
Ten years ago I was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kaylee Jane. I was lucky to meet then marry four years ago my husband Dan, a fifth grade teacher in the district, and added a step son Garrett, who is 11, to my family. We adopted a "pound puppy", our spoiled Yorkie Max, to complete our home. We are constantly seeking out fun family adventures to keep us going on the weekends and through the summer.
A positive learning experience is what I truly want for all of my students; a sense of humor is a must!
