Biography
I have been teaching art for Mesa Public Schools for over twelve years. After receiving my BA from Arizona State University I taught at the elementary level for approximately four years. During my elementary teaching experience I had the opportunity to teach at six different schools and work in both of the Imagitoriums. Having had my student teaching assignment at Poston Junior High, when a position of art teacher became available, I made the move from elementary art teacher to junior high art teacher. Since moving to the junior high level I have acquired an ESL endorsement, a Reading endorsement and my Masters in Bilingual Multicultural Education. At Poston Junior HIgh I have taught Introduction to Art, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Ceramics and both Introduction to Photography and General Photography.
As of 2008 I am split between Poston Junior High and Brimhall Junior High. I teach at Brimhall Junior High In the morning then I move to Poston where I teach the remainder of the day. While this schedule does keep me quite busy, I have found the hours in the day to fly by!
I am originally from California but having moved here so many years ago, I feel like a native.
I look forward to teaching your child. My hope is that your child will learn lifelong skills as well as gain a strong foundation in art.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions or concerns.
