"What you believe, you can achieve."  ~Napoleon Hill

…and I do believe that a student can achieve any goal that he sets forth to accomplish. I believe in big dreams and teaching students to work hard to become confident no matter what obstacles they must endure.

I am privileged to work with young people at Poston Junior High for the 2021-22 school year.  I have been a special education teacher in our Mesa School District for 24 years.  My strength as an educator is teaching with sincere compassion and dedication.  I have a special gift of connecting with my students and their families by creating a trusting, professional bond.

I am a proud graduate of Arizona State University and although I have completed my years of college, I continue to learn from my community, my colleagues, and above all, my students.  I enjoy mentoring new teachers, tutoring students in all curriculum areas, and volunteering my time to our district's Native American Education Program, National Academic League, and National Junior Honor Society.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, and playing music.  I have two children of my own who are currently pursuing their careers in the medical and science fields.  My daughter studied at Syracuse University and Arizona State University and is currently practicing her medical assistant skills at Phoenix Children's Hospital.  My son has studied at UCLA, Dartmouth and is currently publishing his neuroscience research and looking to continue his post doctoral work at Tufts University in Boston.

I will work to set forth a positive learning experience for all students at Poston and I hope to have the confidence and support of the families and our school community as I guide our young people through a successful school year.
