Ms. Shannon Davila
I am so excited for my third year as a Panther! This is my 18th year in Mesa and 26th in education. My counseling gigs have included Sousa and Whittier elementary schools, Smith Junior High and Skyline High School. I earned my B.A. in Journalism and English from the University of Arizona (Bear Down -- Go Cats!!!), teaching credentials through Ottawa University, and M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Before being a counselor, I worked as a crime news reporter, a freelance writer, and an English teacher.
Even though I am the designated counselor for students whose last names begin with letters O-Z, I am here to help all Poston students be successful academically, socially and personally. I am available to students during classroom lessons, for talks one-on-one, in small groups when possible, and even when I am out and about on campus. I am often out at lunches and in the halls each day and I encourage students to check in and ask questions then, so they can have instant feedback.
I am a a proud product of Mesa Public Schools (a Roosevelt Roughrider, a Powell Patriot & a Westwood Warrior!) and love being a Panther and part Mesa's tradition of great schools.
