In 1998 I graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing. After working in the "real world" for a couple of years I decided to go back to school to earn a Masters in Secondary Education. From there I student taught and stayed at the same high school for the next 14 years. In 2017, I made the leap from High School to Junior High! Not only that, I also switched school districts as well!
After teaching Computers, Marketing, Advanced Marketing, and Economics at the high school level, I now teach 7th Grade Computer Essentials, 8th Grade Computer Applications & Coding, 8th Grade Computer Animations, and 7th/8th Grade Career Exploration!
The most important thing to know about me is that I love my job! Since the day I left the business world I have never looked back! I enjoy not only teaching students the skills needed to be successful outside of school, but also getting to know your student and the best ways to help him or her move onto bigger and better things!
Grades are established by the assignments, formative and summative tests, and projects in the Mesa District Canvas system. Feedback for each is incorporated into Canvas.
*Grades represent students' current level of proficiency based upon established standards. (district policy)
All work may be completed during class during lunch at home or at any computer which has internet access.
Late Work Policy
Assignments are due within 1 week of being graded. There is no reduction for late work turned in during that time.
Re-Do & Re-Test Policies
Students have one week to rework, make corrections, resubmit assignments in Canvas as many times as needed to achieve success. Quizzes and tests will have multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery and increase gains in scores.
Students will be assessed on a collection of evidence that includes many data points balancing both formative and summative assessments.
