After almost fifteen years in the classroom, I joined the Professional Development team and am very excited to be supporting education for Mesa Public Schools in another manner.  As an Instructional Improvement Specialist, my primary responsibility is to mentor and support probationary teachers in planning and implementing quality instruction in order to increase student achievement.

My experience in the classroom includes several years in intermediate grades, a year in junior high, and summer school years in primary.  I have loved teaching here in Mesa and look forward to a future of helping teachers be successful.

After growing up in Iowa, I lived in Denver for five years, and then have made Arizona my home since 1999.  I graduated from Arizona State University in 2002 with my BA in Elementary Education and an area of specialization in Spanish.  In 2016, I completed my Master's in Elementary Literacy (Pre K-6) from Walden University.  I also hold a certification in English as a Second Language (K-8) and have an Endorsement in Reading (K-12).  I am currently working on course work for a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis through Arizona State University.

For the 2018-19 academic year, I have the pleasure of serving the schools of Guerrero, Jordan, Pomeroy, Roosevelt, Stapley, Washington, and Whittier.

I believe that every child can learn and has an area of intelligence in which he or she can excel.

My hope is that I can be an instrument of inspiration to teachers and students in reaching their dreams through education.
