Greetings Parents/Guardians:rams head

Welcome to the month of May! We made it! I want to take this opportunity to thank the staff, family and students at Redbird. I have appreciated all the support from the families and the hard work of the staff! This group of students is one of the best-behaved and sweetest groups I have worked with in a long time! Thank you to the Redbird families for being a positive role model as your child's first teacher.
Redbird has so many positive things going for it and so many wonderful changes for the future. I wish I could be here to see the growth. I want to say this special "thank you" to everyone. I was made to feel very welcome here at Redbird and have truly enjoyed the experience. I wish everyone well in the future!!
Thank you!

Terri Clark-Ringland

Redbird's S.T.E.M/ Summer (School) Camp

This summer, Redbird Elementary has decided to do away with the traditional summer school model. Instead, we are excited to present: STEAMING into S.T.E.M.! Students are going to work on reading, math, and writing all while solving problems and exploring new ideas. S.T.E.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Teachers are going to challenge students with a problem connected to a story and students will have three weeks to learn and create an idea to solve the problem. Students are being chosen to attend based on need and we will continue to send out permission slips as spots become available.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact

Michelle Hall, Title I School Improvement Specialist and Summer School Coordinator: 480-472-1295.

Learning and good nutrition does not end when the regular school year ends. Mesa Public Schools sponsors the USDA Summer Food Service Program, which helps provide nutritious meals to children in low-income areas, free of cost. This program is available for all children 18 years and younger, with adult meals available for purchase as well. This is a community program and children do no need to be registered for summer school to participate. The Food and Nutrition Department is sponsoring this program here at Redbird Elementary this summer, Monday through Friday during the summer school session.

Some at beaches
Are sand-castling;
Some are silly---
Fighting, rasseling!

Some are swimming,
Camping, hiking;
Some say stickball
Is their liking.

Some on bikes are
Gaily speeding;
Some are smarter---
