Welcome
to Ida Redbird Elementary School, home of the Rams. Ida Redbird
Elementary School opened in 1974 and was named in honor of a great
Maricopa Native American who became famous for the pottery she
created. Redbird is a K-6 elementary school located on Extension
Road just north of Southern Avenue.
Redbird
serves an ethnically diverse population of approximately 620 students.
We understand that all children can learn and are committed to providing
a well-rounded education for our children. The Redbird philosophy
focuses on child-centered classrooms, developmentally appropriate
teaching practices and a positive campus environment. We do many
whole-school activities aimed at fostering a sense of “community” with
staff and students.
We not only work hard to serve our student body but the parents as well. We see our relationship with parents as a partnership. Working together for the same purpose of educating our children makes for a successful partnership. We have the children for just over 32 hours a week, and we take this responsibility very seriously. Each morning I, as the principal, remind students that my job is to keep the school safe and that their job is to help me keep it safe. When students and staff feel safe, more learning can take place. Should you have any questions or concerns about anything going on at Redbird please feel free to call. Thank you for all of your support! Mr.
