Biography

Mrs. Viva Annette Haws, or "Annette" attended Mesa Community College and later Arizona State University. She graduated from ASU with a BA  in Elementary Education.

Annette taught a semester of first grade at Curry Elementary School in Tempe. She taught first grade the next semester at Tempe's Carminati Elementary School then took the next several years off to raise five children. When her youngest child began kindergarten, she began substitute teaching for MPS.

Annette accepted a part time reading position here at Redbird Elementary in 1999. Since that time she has added a Reading Specialist Endorsement and an English as a Second Language Endorsement to her teaching certificate.

All five of Annette's children attended Redbird Elementary School before she taught here. She is proud to join the Redbird staff and truly believes there is no better place to learn.
