Activity: Brimhall sponsors after-school tutoring four days per week. The cost of the tutors is paid through Proposition 301 monies, but the transportation expenses must be paid through ECA. About 65 percent of Brimhall students depend upon bus transportation to and from school. Students would be unable to attend tutoring if transportation was not provided. The annual cost is about $8,000.

Activity: Brimhall Music students are frequently invited to participate in the Disney Magic Music Days. The students get to work with clinicians to improve their own performance, and get to perform for a Disney audience. The cost per pupil is $200. Band, Choir and Orchestra students are invited this year.

  Our nation's history comes alive for students fortunate enough to visit our nation's capital. Donations will be used to send students who cannot afford it on our Close Up trip to Washington D.C. this summer.

Activity: Powell Junior High school is in need of funds to support extracurricular activities associated with Art, Photography, Industrial Technology and FACs. For example, funds might be used to go on a field trip to the Culinary Arts Institute or to compete in an art competition.

Activity: Science Camp -- Each year 90 Powell students and 13 teachers attend a two night three day Science Camp in Prescott. The students participate in outdoor labs, team building and many Scientific concepts are taught and reinforced. Funding would assist students who could not normally afford to pay the $100 fee to attend and allow for the purchase of lab supplies and materials.

Activity: Shepherd Jr. High uses ECA funds for a variety of needs in band, choir, orchestra, dance, drama, athletics, cheer, and after-school tutoring. All field trips are funded from ECA funds. In the past, our students have enjoyed both the Heard and Phoenix Art Museums due to the generous ECA donations.
